HMSI has created a splash in the two-wheeler industry with the launch of the Dio 125 X Edition and Shine 125 Limited Edition, each below Rs 90,000 ex-showroom. Both these special editions bring in new styling in place of popular 125cc models without any revision in mechanical specifications; instead, targeting style-conscious commuters.
Launch and Introduction
Honda had launched the Dio 125 X Edition, a more stylish version of the best-selling commuter bike, for Rs 87,733 (ex-showroom Delhi) on December 14, 2025. It carries a price premium of just Rs 1,000 over the base model Dio 125 STD. Next came the Honda Shine 125 Limited Edition on February 4, 2026. Priced at Rs 86,211, it is based on the fully-loaded Shine 125 Disc variant. Both the above-mentioned products were launched silently on Honda’s website before any public announcement.
This is the edition for those who are living in cities and seek exclusivity in commuting. The Dio attracts scooter enthusiasts due to their sporting nature. The Shine does this job for motorcycle enthusiasts who need exclusivity for commuting bikes. Bookings for the same are live online or at the authorised dealership from this instant onwards, and delivery begins from the second week of February 2026.
What Makes It a Limited Edition?
Special bikes have unique designs, such as special colours, graphics, and alloys, which cannot be found on other bikes. These bikes are called limited editions, referring to their exclusive nature. Honda motorcycles also contain “limited” appeal, wherein new designs enhance their resale value. The bikes create an urgency among users to book these bikes, considering their short availability and hype on social media.
For Dio 125 X, it is the bold two-tone colour scheme and orange-colored wheels; for Shine, it is Pearl Siren Blue with brown accents. This distinguishes them from regular motorcycles without requiring additional mechanical costs.
Dio 125 X Edition: Mileage, Colours, and Looks
The Dio 125 X Edition claims a fuel efficiency of 48 kmpl as certified by ARAI, powered by a 123.92cc air-cooled engine offering a maximum of 8.3PS and 10.5Nm of torque, a CVT-transmission type, and has an actual fuel efficiency of around 45-50 kmpl, which is good for Patna roads.
The use of contrasting dual-tone colours like Pearl Siren Blue and Pearl Deep Ground Grey on the apron or side panels with crisp X-Edition decals. Bright orange alloys only add to the sporty quotient, along with the use of LED lights, along with a USB Type C port and a TFT console. The lower kerb weight of 105kg, along with the high ground clearance of 171mm and a fuel tank of 5.3 liters make it an apt ride for the young.
They say it’s good for daily/office use as it’s comfortable for two, smooth to ride, and has low maintenance.
Shine 125 Limited Edition: Mileage, Colours, and Looks
The Shine 125 Limited Edition maintains a claimed 55 kmpl from its 123.94cc engine, one good for 10.78 PS and 11 Nm-linked to a 5-speed gearbox, complete with idling stop for efficiency. The city mileage often strikes 50+ kmpl, suiting the Bihar fuel-conscious buyer.
It sports exclusive Pearl Siren Blue with dark blue panels, brown graphics on the tank, and pyrite brown alloy wheels for a premium sheen. The list of features reads the same as that of the standard Disc: digital console, CBS disc brakes, USB port, and side-stand cut-off, but elevated visually. At 113kg, it’s stable with good ergonomics for commutes.
Booking, Delivery, and Availability
Bookings are open for these two on Honda’s website or dealerships; no advance is required at this time, but there will be a wait as they are popular. For the Patna region, HMSI dealerships are the place to check; deliveries commence mid-February 2026. For these special edition vehicles, book early, as they will be gone soon. Additionally, the cost of on-road expenses is required for registration and insurance—Rs. 10
Honda’s network also provides for timely service; at present, the Patna location offers stock for standards within a week, and for specials, it would take 1-2 weeks.

Both editions compete in the Rs 85,000-90,000 ex-showroom bracket against scooters like Activa 125 (Rs 89,000+) and bikes like TVS Jupiter 125 (Rs 85,000).
