What is PM Awas Yojana?
Owning a house is not only an aspect of providing shelter for the head but also an aspect of dignity and feeling at home. To fill the gap between the拥 and the have-nots, the Indian Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
In this blog, we will take you through all that you need to know regarding this scheme in a way that is very straightforward and easy to understand. This information will help you regardless of whether you live in a big city or a small village.
The Four Pillars of the Scheme
It is not free money handed out by the government. There are actually four types based on your personal situation.
1. In-Situ Slum
“This is for people living in slums.”
The government uses the land upon which the slum stands in an attempt to erect new houses for the inhabitants in partnership with private corporations because here, the plan is “to turn slums into neighborhoods.”
2. Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme [CLSS]
This is the most favorite part of this scheme for the middle-class people. Now, if you take a home loan from the bank for buying or building a house, and the government starts paying some part of the interest, this will reduce your EMI by a large extent.
3. Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP)
The governmentpartnerswith either the private sector developers or the public sector with the objective of developing these housing schemes that are more affordable. However, there is a certain percentage of housing that is allocated for the low income at a subsidized fee.
4.Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC)
However, if the land is already in your possession but you lack the resources to build a house, that is, if besides acquiring land, you would also like to give your current ‘kucha’ house a facelift, the Indian government is able to assist you in the following ways:
